What exactly is a life purpose?

So many times we use this term, we speak of finding it but, are we clear of what it would feel like and be like when we do?

There is a Harvard study published in May 2020 that says that we NEED a higher purpose in life to feel our lives have meaning AND that if you believe your life has meaning, it could potentially be longer.

There are actually countless clinical studies that show that having a “greater purpose” dramatically increases the length and quality of your life. Yet, it is alarming how many people at this time report that they don’t know what theirs is.

It does not matter how smart, conscious, creative, talented, and tuned in you are, if you are not clear about what you are meant to be doing now and why you are here on this planet at this time, you will be feeling off-kilter and you will go about life feeling like something is missing.

Life purpose is defined differently by different people, however, as a spiritual teacher, coach, and healer, I have learned that knowing your life purpose means you have aligned your passion with your dreams and your goals.

When your passion is in line with your dreams and goals then your behaviors and your actions will naturally be aligned with your values. As a result, you will feel on-purpose AND you will feel fulfilled with an inner knowing that what you do matters… that YOU matter.

I believe that living our purpose is ultimately connecting with our higher self or inner divinity and listening to its guidance you will gain clarity on all of the above.

What I find in my work is that many people are struggling to go inside, to honor time to connect with the whispers of the divine within, and thus can’t receive the golden messages for themselves. Your inner knowing speaks in a really soft voice, therefore, we must be able to quiet our minds to listen accurately.

Not knowing what your purpose is will have you going about life sabotaging your ability to unlock your full potential and manifest what you most desire in life!

So why is it so difficult to gain clarity on OUR OWN purpose? It’s ours so we should know right? Wrong… the problem is that through our childhood experiences and trauma we’ve detached from pieces of our soul and we’ve disowned parts of ourselves. All of these aspects of our being lay in the shadow, they are our blind spots, and they hold precious information that we can’t see on our own because… they are our blind spots. By definition, we need someone else to mirror those to us.

What I know is that you are needed. I know that you are meant to be living a fulfilling joyful abundant life.  I know that if you aren’t living a life of joy and purpose and you feel stuck or simply blah, then now is the time for you to rise up and figure this out!

🔥 Why are you lacking motivation?
🔥 Why are you confused?
🔥 Why do you feel pulled in a million directions?

7 “Anxiety Killer” Steps

Last week I had a difficult week in a way I hadn’t experienced before.
I was having a combination of physical exhaustion and difficulty to stay present in my life and my body. This created a series of events that I judged as negative and that created “a bit” of a downward spiral.

You know how big I am about co-creation, positive thinking and feeling, and how I strive to be in integrity by walking my own talk. As I realized I was “freaking out” was going into negative thinking I said to myself “enough, I know what to do about this”.

The process I went through has 7 basic steps that I am sharing with you so you can use them when you may need them. We are all human and we all may have moments when things seem less than rosy, don’t we?

Step #1 is to NOTICE what is going on.
​You DO know when you are heading into negativity, you may feel some anxiety, and your thoughts take you down into more of the same.  The simple act of “noticing” the thought shifts you immediately from “being in the situation” to “observing the situation” which leads to the next step.  And, guess what? You may journal about what comes up for you to gain further clarity.

Step #2 is to RECOGNIZE the FEELINGS
Now that you are aware of what is going on ask yourself “how am I feeling”? The answer is crucial for you because you will become VERY aware that you are not feeling particularly good. For me, the thoughts were of this type “I am anxious because I SHOULD be doing xyz and I am physically tired and can’t allow myself to rest” (have you ever felt this way! LOL).

Step #3: FORGIVE yourself for having these thoughts 
Forgive yourself for not being “perfect”, for being human, for being out of alignment. It happens to the best of us! Ask yourself “what is positive about this situation?”, “what can I learn from what has just happened or is happening”?

Step #5 CLEAR YOURSELF and CLEAR your SPACE​​
Use​ any techniques you know to clear your subtle bodies and help yourself by also clearing the space where you live. Do some smudging, light some incense and candles, or do it your own way. This will support your ability to pivot and take the following steps.

Step #5: OPPORTUNITY
What you did in the prior steps was to “press the PAUSE button” and by doing so you created space to CHOOSE what you want to create. Now you can ask yourself “how can I do this differently”, “Is my thought real?”, “is this true”?  You will realize for sure how there is a better course of action and how your “internal dialogue” was not necessarily true or that you could adjust it and choose differently.

Step #6 CLEAR YOURSELF and CLEAR your SPACE​​
Use​ any techniques you know to clear your subtle bodies and help yourself by also clearing the space where you live. Do some smudging, light some incense and candles, or do it your own way. This will support your ability to pivot and take the following steps.

Step #7 DIVINE GUIDANCE
Always tap into your higher self or Divine Guidance. Ask to be supported and shown what is best for you and to fully integrate the learning. Meditate and/or journal about this too.

Step #6 GRATITUDE
Always, always, always, remember to be grateful for every opportunity we have to grow, learn, expand and live a better happier more fulfilled life.

It’s not too late!

The New Year is here, heck, the New Decade is here, however, you are still on time to set high intentions for the new journey!

There are 3 practices I use and coach with to help prepare yourself for a powerful time.
I recommend you do all of these, as described below, in one sitting. Take at least 1 hour of time, create a sacred place where you sit down with your journal and connect within with the following guidance.

1. Release The Old. If you haven’t done it yet. The idea is to re-visit with your thoughts the decade we have just left behind, and in more detail the year 2019. Think of what topics, things, areas and people, are stopping you from living the best version of yourself. With intention release them, bless them, and send them in to the light knowingly choosing to leave them in the past.

2. Honor What You Did. Now make a list of 50 things you accomplished during the past year. YES FIFTY!!! Believe me, you have. They can be small or big, but they must be at least fifty. This exercise will leave you with a sense of accomplishment. We tend to forget how much we have done.

3. Set High Intentions. Finally, think about those things you want to create, those people you want to connect, reconnect, guide and be guided by and with, those events you want to live, and those things you want to transform. Honor what you have already done, those relationships you want to enrich, and visualize, think, feel and write it all down!

These 3 steps will make you enter this new decade with a feeling of possibility, joy and empowerment. It will connect you with YOUR unique vision and gifts helping you bring forth the maximum from yourself and into the world.

Begin today creating a big wonderful container to live your best ever decade of your life!

Affirmations to start your day

 

Today I share a tool to support you as you harness the potential available to you as you walk your soulful path.

Anything we think, say or do will effect your life, therefore, it is important to nip the negative inner dialogue in the bud.

When you are going along the day or facing a challenge, what does your inner voice say? Does it encourage you with a “Heck yay, you can do it!” or does your internal critic kick in?

Whenever you find yourself within a negative loop of self-talk, the antidote is to interrupt the pattern and replace it with positive affirmations. Therefore, I want to give you a tool that you can practice every day so you can be ready to transform your inner dialogue to go from defeatist to constructive.

Know that YOU CAN control your thoughts, and that to break the habit of negative thinking you need to switch the channel in your brain to banish the negativity, and replace those thoughts with positive, valid words of wisdom.

Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation or goal in the present tense as if the situation has already happened.

The way to use affirmations is to repeat them often as a way to reprogram your brain and motivate your mind to act according to the repeated words. This repetition tricks your subconscious mind to believe these statements and accept them as true, raising  your vibration and creating a positive field to attract congruent events and situations into your life.

I am sharing with you a shortlist of positive thoughts to get you started so that you can then add your own:

* I am a master at what I do
* I genuinely believe in myself
* I love and accept myself just the way I am
* I am grateful for ….. (this goes a long way, create as many as you wish!)
* I have peace and harmony in my life
* I am masterful at accomplishing whatever I set your mind to.

“I am” statements are super powerful. Create as many “I am …” with a positive adjective following the dots, as you can muster. Most of all HAVE FUN and enjoy loving yourself through positive statement affirmations.
